STOP EVERYTHING – Selfridges are stocking La di da Sweet Treats Chocolate Covered Cookies and they are bloody delicious!!!!
Forget the cupcake, the rainbow cake, Victoria sponge or brownie. Push aside hybrid creations such as The Duffin, The Cronut or The Dossant, as a new treat is coming to town and it is a whopper… Introducing The Chocolate Covered Cookie: a whole Oreo biscuit submerged in melted chocolate (candy melts) and then chilled. It comes in a range of eye-catching colours (white, blue, green, red, yellow, gold, pink and black) so it looks as good as it tastes!
Hugely talented artisan baker Sangita Anand from La di da Sweet Treats has launched The Chocolate Covered Cookie. Taking inspiration from our friends in the USA the treat has already become a bit of a cult snack here despite Sangita only selling them through her website on a bespoke order basis. Sangita said “I love creating delicious new treats, and have been making bespoke cakes and cupcakes for years. I had heard something similar was popular in America, so one day I decided to try something new… I melted some chocolate and dunked a whole Oreo in it, chilled it and then popped a little more chocolate on top. The result looked and tasted fantastic, and so the Chocolate Covered Cookie was born. I popped this on Twitter and Instagram and started getting a lot of interest and subsequently orders. I pushed the cupcakes to one side and started concentrating on the little covered gems.”
