*UPDATE* White Horse has now closed.
Fancy a pub session with something more exciting to munch on than chips and mayo? Us too, which is why we were delighted to get wind of plans to turn White Horse, traditional Hampstead Heath boozer, into a classy lounge bar serving freshly prepared Lebanese mezze. Yes, Lebanese.
After an impressive refurbishment, the White Horse re-opened last week complete with Lebanese owner and chefs, and a shiny new kitchen.
The ambiance is of the warm, up market pub variety you would expect of the area, but most significantly, the food is original and delicious.
Zingy spinach parcels, halloumi kebabs and lamb kofte meatballs; perfect for sharing with pals over a pint or two of moretti.
There are also plans to serve a stew of the day mid-week, burgers on Saturdays, and roast beef ‘Lebanese style’ on Sundays. Yum.
