Wedge Issue Pizza

We are certainly not short of pizza places in London. However, Wedge Issue combines New York style thin crust pizza with an extensive craft beer menu – a winning combination for the after work crowd in Clerkenwell.

The dough is proofed for three days and the tomato sauce is made from pure and simple crushed sweet San Marzano tomatoes – nothing else. You’re then let loose to create your very own pizza or go with their London-themed offering. Decide on a base (gluten free available at no extra charge), sauce and as many toppings as you LIKE! Don’t worry, the chefs will make sure it’s not too overloaded if you go a little cray cray.

The venue is pretty big, with a mezzanine level AND a basement (check out the Open Mic Night on Friday’s!) but filled up pretty fast on the Friday night we visited.

If you think yourself a craft beer aficionado, you’ll be in heaven with the selection here. Go for a half of the Hiver, made in Bermondsey where they keep their bees on the roof. Or try Pressure Drop’s alligator tugboat – the bottle alone is worth it and is pretty hard to come by. There are even gluten free beer options available so it’s a great option for those with a restricted diet AND they offer veggie parmesan at no extra charge. Chuck in Chocolate Pizza for dessert and you can see, these guys have it covered.
