The Russet

Neighbourhood favourites The Russet launch new spring menu AND cocktail bar this spring!

Our friends at The Russet have added delicious new options to line our stomachs before checking out the cool new back room bar.

All dishes are tapas style designed to share, are super fresh and taste delicious but manage to feel really healthy at the same time – no mean feat!

Starters include Roasted Spiced Cauliflower with Pomegranate and Almonds or Roast Piquillo Peppers stuffed with Tofu, Ajillo dressing – veggie options any meat eater would be happy with.

Courgette Noodles, Pea and Mint Pesto, Crushed Walnuts was my favourite, tasting like spring on a plate. For the meat eaters Slow Cooked Dalston Cola Sticky Chicken really hit the spot.

Mains were equally as impressive, think slow cooked pork belly, on a chorizo and white bean stew with Sourdough for dipping. Or go for the “Chunky Cheeseburger”, served nice and rare with crushed new potato chips, tomato relish, and a simple green salad

Roast sea bass is given a fresh asian twist served with brown rice & tomato, cucumber salsa, and sweet pepper sauce.

While the raw kale (the trendy super food we’ll see on every menu this year!) and avocado salad with crushed walnuts and tahini dressing made a great side or veggie option.

We are also big fans of the daily changing no-frills options such as Beef Ragu with brown rice £5 or Spicy black turtle beans with rice (£4.50).

And make sure you stick around for a cocktail at The Shrubbery with cocktails such as The Original Shrubbery with plantation Trinidad dark rum and original shrub or Grin + Hydroponic with Dandelion & Burdock blackberry reduction.

Cheers!
