If you fancy something a little different…….how about lunch in a prison?? The Clink Restaurant at HMP Brixton is offering just that!
Prisoners with between 6 and 18 months left of their sentence are selected, following in-depth testing to assess their suitability to the scheme.
The restaurant will follow The Clink’s Five Step Programme that has been successfully implemented at award-winning The Clink Restaurant at HMP High Down and at The Clink Cymru at HMP Cardiff, educating prisoners and equipping them with the skills and tools to secure employment upon their release.
Starters currently include roast squash tortellini with spinach & a pesto dressing (£5.50) or hot crab & smoked mackerel pancake roll with artichoke cream (£5.95)
Mains are equally reasonably priced with poached saddle of venison, garlic & celeriac mashed potato, caramelised baby onions, button mushrooms, young carrot & baba ganouche just £13.50.
The menu changes on a weekly basis and change each season.
You can book now via this link but be warned; reservations will follow the same strict approval process as operated at The Clink Restaurant at HMP High Down in Surrey due to the restaurant being located in the heart of the prison.
