There’s no better way to spend a great British summer’s day than socialising in the sun, by the river, with an ice-cold cocktail in hand.
The Docklands’ historic gastropub The Gun, has collaborated with Aperol to transform its outdoor riverside space into the Spritz Shack, complete with lawn games, Aperol Spritz and a simple, fresh summer menu.
Overlooking the Thames and the O2, the terraced decking will offer a sun-soaked oasis (hopefully) just moments from Canary Wharf, with candy-striped deck chairs, greenery and yellow picket fences.
Specialising in London’s refreshing summer spritz of choice, the private bar will include specially-designed Aperol cocktails, alongside traditional English Fruit Cups, bottles of beer chilling in ice-filled wheelbarrows and a selection of wines alongside a variety of foodie packages to choose from:
Picnic Basket Menu
Finger sandwiches; Sicilian olives; Broccoli and stilton quiche; mini sausage rolls.
£17 per person
Market Stall Menu
Black pudding Scotch eggs; kiln roast honey salmon; smoked mackerel pâté; or rare roast beef with horseradish.
£26 per person for five items, £35 per person for seven items, £42 per person for nine items
Canapé Menu
An extensive menu of bite-sized canapés includes meat, fish, vegetarian and dessert options including Virgin Mary oyster shooters; crayfish cocktail; steak tartare crostini with quail yolk; and mini ice cream cones.
£17 for six canapés per person or £21 for nine canapés per person.
Bowl Food Menu
A variety of bowls for all guests including Billingsgate fish pie; prawn, avocado and Marie Rose salad; fish and chips; steak and Guinness pie; or strawberry Eton mess.
£16 per person for 2 bowls, £20 per person for three bowls or choose four canapés with an extra two bowls per person for £26.
The Spritz Shack will be open until the end of September and will also be open to the general public for ad hoc events throughout the summer (including The Slider Decider on 4th June, tickets now available)
