Here at Crummbs HQ there is no way we’d ever advocate abstaining, ESPECIALLY in cold January. So we were delighted to try out the new Nourish menu available at Sanderson this winter.
It’s designed to leave you feeling energised, revived and refreshed rather than deprived and miserable!
The full Nourish package marries a super healthy menu from health, beauty and nutrition expert, Karen Cummings-Palmer, with rejuvenating body and skin treatments in Sanderson’s iconic agua spa. We feel a girls weekend coming on! Although if you like the sound of the menu fear not, you can just book in for dinner!
The Nourish menu uses locally-sourced, seasonal and organic produce – avoiding refined carbohydrates and sugars – to support your body through the winter months. It will vary slightly from week to week to ensure the very best of seasonal ingredients are being used at all times.
We particularly loved the salads to start. The kale salad featured roasted wedges of beetroot, avocado, toasted hazelnuts and a sprinkling of feta. A real anti-oxidant, stamina-boosting dish, bursting with fresh flavour. While the ancient supergrain, sprouted chickpea & market veg bowl was packed full of root to stem veg – which we think is going to be a HUGE food trend this year.
If all that sounds too healthy, you’ll be pleasantly surprised to see wild venison (painstakingly sourced by the chef himself to guarantee the best possible quality) served with shiitake mushrooms and the most moreish black rice. Oh and make sure you grab a portion of those salty sweet potato fries – anyone else find they just don’t get that crispy when you do them at home??
The coconut & banana ice cream was gloriously decadent so sweet tooth’s won’t go home disappointed – simply finish the evening with a matcha tea. (IF you can handle the Apple Cider Vinegar tonic you’re made of stronger stuff then us!!)
Karen Cummings-Palmer, said: “It’s great to be working with Matthew to tailor the meals for this incredible package. We wanted to re-define comfort food and create warming dishes that give your body everything you need to feel physically and mentally refreshed throughout the coldest, darkest months.”
Take it from us, Karen is the picture of health so if this is what she’s eating – we are on board!
Jacqueline Kneebone, Regional Director of Spa and Retail, Morgans Hotel Group, said: “We’ve selected and designed our treatments to help you completely relax. Coupled with Sanderson’s stunning agua spa, it’s the perfect setting to get away from it all.”
The Nourish Package will include an overnight stay for two at Sanderson, an in-room carrot, beet, kale and ginger juice per person, 80-minute Hot Stone Massage and NUXE Booster Facial at agua spa and a three-course lunch or dinner from the Nourish menu at The Restaurant at Sanderson.
The package starts from £639 and will be available from 6th January – 31st March 2016. Personal training sessions in the fitness centre will also be available at an additional cost.
Karen Cummings-Palmer’s Nourish menu will be available at The Restaurant at Sanderson, agua spa and via room service until 31st March 2016.
