PANZO has just landed on Exmouth market with a gorgeous space dishing up traditional Neapolitan pizza – with a twist.
Ingredients are carefully selected according to what’s in season and the dough is a combo of soy, rice, wheat and sourdough for a light, easier to digest, crispy dough. It practically sounds like a superfood, right? We’re told it contains less gluten and calories found in your regular sourdough pizza so grab the girls and book a table.
Before we got to the pizza we tucked into a creamy plate of Puglian Burrata dotted with cherry tomatoes and olive oil. Priced at just a fiver, this was a serious bargain.
The small but perfectly formed menu features both veggie and meaty options and all pizzas arrive in a personal, oval sized shape. Smashed pumpkin created a layer base for generous slices of pancetta and great big dollops of Naples favourite provola cheese. Whilst wild mushrooms had a delicious garlicky truffle flavour alongside a cheese feast combo of goat, gorgonzola and mozzarella.
Costing just £8.50, we can see this being a real hit at lunchtime with the surrounding area or a great post-work pit-stop – just add a glass of the magic red or craft beer from the Fourpure Brewing Co. At these prices you can easily justify dessert – the homemade tiramisu comes in a cute glass pot.
Despite the good value they haven’t skipped on the design led interior. We loved the rose gold hardware and the tasteful green leather upholstery on the chairs. You can also see the chefs at work from the open pizza kitchen and rose gold pizza oven. It’s like a really really classy Voodoo Ray’s – check it out….
