Oh Yes, it’s Sunday Roasts at Blacklock

We all know a Sunday Roast can never beat Mum’s, but then again, Mum hasn’t got nearly a whole pig roasting over open coals, has she?

With summer all but a distant memory, those charming gentlemen at Blacklock wanted to ease the winter blues a tad and what better way to woo us all than with their original take on the Sunday Roast.

An incredible Sunday Roast at Blacklock has been high on the to-do list for a while now but, as there are so many great versions on offer in London, Gordon and the chaps wanted to bring us something new and in keeping with their vibe.  So, given that they’re quite handy with a charcoal grill, they’re taking the best part of a whole animal (or three) and roasting it for hours for all to see over open flames.

Meat Shot

Cornish beef, lamb and rare breed pork from their award winning butchers, the Warren Family, served up with gigantic Yorkshire puddings (using Gordon’s mum’s recipe), a Henry VIII inspired trencher to soak up all those meat juices, goose fat roast potatoes and a choice of new Sunday sides. Throw in a couple of new starters and it’s a bargain (as always) for just 20 quid.

Final Roast Shot

Sunday just would not be Sunday without a well-made, pre-lunch drink to perk things up and so alongside this scrumptious roast lunch, there is a new range of cocktails, including hangover curing Bloody Mary’s and Breakfast Martinis as well as Gin n’ Juice, a cold pressed juice from No.1 “chopaholic” and lovely lovely blogger Samphire & Salsify, served with its own bottle of gin. Because a cold pressed juice, nice as it is, tastes better with gin in it.

Gin & Juice

Sunday Roasts at Blacklock will be on offer from Sunday 8th of November from 12-6pm and you can reserve a table by calling the chaps on 020 3441 6996 or emailing reservations@theblacklock.com.

Don’t tell your mum, or better still give her a week off and bring her along.
