Morty & Bob’s

We are HUGE fans of grilled cheese. In fact, we’ve been known to sit at Morty & Bob’s little shack in Netil Market, alone, in the snow. If you’ve had one, you’ll know.

So we couldn’t bloody believe it when we heard that they’d got all grown up with a roof and everything, just a short, hop, skip and a jump away in Netil House. Located on the 2nd floor, unless you know about it, you wouldn’t really stumble upon it – which is GREAT for when the market is feeling a little crowded.

The inside is all exposed bricks and foliage –if the cast of Friends had taste, this is how their apartment would have looked – it’s a space we’d happily spend all day in. To be totally honest, if we could have fit the neon Liquor sign in our handbag we would have run off with it.

If the sun is shining you’ll want to venture onto the roof though, where you can brunch on the gorgeous terrace, mimosa in hand. Featuring all the classics, we skipped our classic avo on toast for crab meat with two perfectly poached eggs (ok, and avocado) on sourdough. The rich tomato ‘stew-like’ chorizo & chickpea bake was similar to that of shakshuka and perfect for scooping up with yet more of that banging bread.

The sun hasn’t made too many appearances so far this year, but next time it does, you’ll know where to find us.
