A recipe for homemade amaretto from the guys at Communion Bar…
You will need…
200g amaretti biscuits
1/3 of vanilla pod
30g crushed almonds
How to make it…
1. Crush the amaretti biscuits, add almonds, slice of vanilla pod and soak in Vodka.
2. Keep it locked in a Jar for 2 days.
3. Combine the biscuit mix in a pan with sugar and simmer the mixture over very low heat until the sugar dissolves
4. Strain through the super bag (or whatever you have to strain properly: might be cloth if made at home).
Bottle it and keep it refrigerated for another two days (it will get thicker) and then it’s ready to drink!
