Having recently opened a new branch of Hai Street Kitchen in Leadenhall, Crummbs went along to road test the inventive new way to get your sushi fix!
Japenese or Mexican, Konnichiwa or Hola!
Well at Hai Street Kitchen you can indeed have it all, something New York have been doing well for years but a relatively new concept for little ol’ London.
Once over the threshold, don’t be daunted by the smiling army of staff – they are there to guide you through the subway style counter where you pick and choose ingredients “rolled your way”.
Firstly, select a base.
The wrap is probably their signature, messy, number one option! However for those feeling a little daintier try a rice bowl (no seaweed) or a salad bowl (great for those on a low-carb diet!)
Next you select your main; here you can keep it veggie with roasted carrots, go full on Japanese with Chicken or Fish Katsu or go a little more Mexican with Flank Steak, Pastrami Salmon or Grilled Pork Belly.
It doesn’t stop here, add all your favourite veggies and finish with a sauce – the spicy mayo had a pretty good kick to it so I’d recommend the fresh lemonade to wash it all down.
All wrapped up and you’re ready to go.
Prices range from £5.99-£7.99.
