Ember Yard Croquetas Challenge 2016

London’s leading chefs compete in the Capital’s first ever Croquetas Challenge on Tuesday 6th September.

Looking to elevate the humble bar snack to new heights in a cook-off and tasting at Ember Yard, an impressive list of restaurants and chefs have signed up to take part in this inaugural contest in September. Contestants, including Salt Yard, José Pizarro, Social Wine & Tapas, The Modern Pantry, Brindisa Kitchens, Oldroyd, Aqua Nueva, Duende, Copita, Barrica, Camino, Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen, Riding House Café, and Señor Ceviche – will all be ready to flex their culinary muscles in front of a judging panel of renowned food writers and journalists in an event open to the public in celebration of this popular small plate.

Hosted by chef director of Salt Yard Group, Ben Tish, the competition will see each chef present their favourite croquetas recipe to the panel, with entries varying from traditional choices such as Croquetas de Jamón, to more wonderfully unusual creations such as Oxtail, Apricot and Peanut; Aubergine and Goat’s Cheese with Crystallised Acacia Honey and Rosemary; and Smoked Eel, Horseradish and Beetroot – making sure of course that there will be enough croquetas for the audience to try!

Taking place at 6pm on Tuesday, 6th September at Ember Yard, the #CroquetasChallenge will be a ticketed event, costing £15 per person including a welcome drink and a taste of all croquetas, and will be the first time ever that London foodies will be able to watch some of the city’s most renowned restaurants go head to head competing for a new culinary title all under one roof.
