Dead Dolls Club

On a cold, wet & windy night in the darkest depths of January, Dalston’s Dead Dolls Club welcomed us into their lair with open arms, feathers and fern leaves.
Hosted by Live & Unamplified & The Big Food Crawl the atmosphere was set for a rustic winter menu interspersed with hot folky jazz music. We were treated to a starter of fresh homemade gnocchi with rocket & pine nuts, drizzled in sage butter, so simple but a delicious way to kick things off.Main meals were either a peasant slow braised beef shin stew or a courgette & feta fritter depending on your veggie stance. I’m not veggie but for me this was the winning dish & bursting with flavour despite my description not doing it justice at all!

The star of the show were the jam jars of lemon & ginger cheesecake topped with passion fruit. Superb.

THIS VENUE IS NOW PERMANENTLY CLOSED.
