Winning with Lottoland

Come on, be honest – how many times have you daydreamed about winning the lottery?

We’ve all done it, in fact it’s one of our favourite past times (especially when deadlines are looming!)

So what would you do? Where would you go? But most important of all, what would you eat?

Read on for our dream day as a Lottoland winner….

Breakfast in London

We’d get picked up from our little 1 bed in Clapton (the sale of the mansion is still going through) by a friendly chauffer – let’s call him Jeeves. We wouldn’t mind the early start as Bentley’s are pretty comfortable.  But where would we go if money was no object? Well we LOVE Dishoom for THAT bacon naan – quite rightly the stuff of legends, washed down with chai perfection. Nope, we’ve got to aim higher. We’re big fans of the Foxlow fried chicken and waffle combo with a cheeky mimosa to perk you up in the morning. Hmmm and then there’s always the city boys favourite, the belly busting spread at steak house restaurant Hawksmoor. Got to think higher – we know! We’d head up to Duck & Waffle on the 40th floor where the lift always makes us giggle and watch the sun breaking over our favourite city. If there’s a better way to start the day, we wanna hear it?

We’ll start with the Duck Egg with Gruyère, truffle, soldiers and finish with ‘Full Elvis’ waffles with pbj, banana brûlée, chantilly cream, all the trimmings – thanks!

Lunch in Italy

We are a little bit obsessed with the World’s 50 Best List and are doing our best to tick off as many as possible (Central, Maido, Relae, we’re looking at you!). But if we could go ANYWHERE on the list? It’s got to be Osteria Francescana, a three Michelin star restaurant located in beautiful Modena, Italy. Not only is it Number 2 in the world but after watching chef Massimo Bottura cameo in Aziz Ansari’s Master of None, we totally fell in love. If you haven’t watched the incredible Master of None series yet, stop what you’re doing right now and prioritise. Nestled down an unassuming alley, we’d obviously go for the 12 course tasting menu with wine pairings which changes regularly. Hopefully the epic ‘Five ages of Parmigiano Reggiano in different textures and temperatures’ dish will be included, followed by the Tagliatelle with hand cut meat ragù. Because pasta is life.

Dinner in Copenhagen

We’ve literally JUST got back from Copenhagen and loved every minute of it. It’s true what they say though, it ain’t cheap, but thankfully we’ve won the lottery so it’s the ideal time to revisit. Chef Rene Redzepi’s Noma undoubtedly put Copenhagen on the map and sat pretty at the top of the World’s 50 Best list whilst it was open. However, whilst it’s going through its reincarnation, the Noma alumni have come up with their own outstanding restaurants. We recommend grabbing the tartare and a glass of wine at Manfreds & Vin before having the 4 course tasting menu at Restaurant Relae just across the road. Amass was outstanding and was extra special the night we went as Eli Kaimeh from NYC’s Per Se was over for a collaboration in the kitchen. For something a whole lot more casual Hija de Sanchez do the best tacos.

But whilst we’re dreaming, we’d have bagged a table to the new Noma. We snuck a peak whilst we were there and it looked like they still had a fair bit to do, but it’s rumoured to be open in the New Year. Expect a greenhouse on the roof and a platform on a lake on which to grow vegetables. We can’t wait to check it out.

So what do you reckon? Sound like a good way to spend our winnings?

Ways to win

Well everyone knows about the EuroMillions, but then there’s always the Irish Lottery which is a good alternative to the UK Lotto and Powerball is the American lottery which had the £1 billion jackpot earlier this year!

As they say, you’ve got to be in it to win it…….
