This city has become OBSESSED with the bottomless brunch. The ultimate hair of the dog and an ideal start to the weekend, it can be a bit of a minefield deciding on which one to book, but it’s never too early to start dreaming of the weekend…
Exmouth Market’s, Coin Laundry have just launched their version which as you’d expect has a distinctly 70s twist.
The menu combines some of their signature dishes (chicken kiev, spag bol croquettes – above) with more traditional brunch options like ham, egg and chips or omelette primavera. For those wanting something a little lighter, we’d suggest the Asparagus Quiche, complete with poached egg and hollandaise sauce.
However we couldn’t resist the hearty Chicken Kiev which is served with either butter leaf salad or creamy cauliflower cheese, we’ll let you guess which we went for! Thankfully it’s served with a stick of gum so you’re all set up for the day.
When ordering a main, you have the option of adding on unlimited Bloody Mary’s, Bucks Fizz or Pamplemousse, which for the uninitiated is a grapefruit, gin based cocktail which we LOVED. Way too easy to knock back, it’s the perfect drink to take you from breakfast to lunch.
Desserts look like something your nana might make if she was trying to impress – the porncake cheesecake is served in a kitsch dessert glass for example – a guilty pleasure you won’t be able to resist.
Spread over two floors and combining comfy couches and board games you’ll remember from your childhood, Coin Laundry is the perfect start to the weekend.
