June’s Burger of the Month at The Blues Kitchen asks the question on everyone’s lips; should we stay or should we go come the EU Referendum on June 23rd?
I think it should have been called the Brexit Burger, but it’s called… The Clash and is the delicious simplification of a complicated economic question. One half – a 4 oz Dry-aged Angus & Shorthorn steak patty, sauerkraut, baby gem, brie and chorizo – represents our continental neighbours. The other – a 4 oz Dry-aged Angus & Shorthorn steak patty, English mustard, pickled onions, saveloy and red Leicester – is Englishness in all its noble glory.
All served with a side of Fren-Chips (gettit? lol). Divided by sea, together in bread. The future of our international relations rests on the unity of these international flavours.
It looks like an unsurpassable mountain of crazy ingredients but it is digestible in one sitting – we tried and won! And the different fillings all work together surprisingly well. Our favourite elements being the brie and the chorizo.
Launching on June 1st and running until the end of the month, you’ll have plenty of time to chew over the answer yourself.
