We are here to tell you that rooftops are not just for Summer.
Oh no, the elegant Boundary have got things nice and toasty on the roof with their latest Alpine menu fondly dubbed ‘Raclette on the Rooftop’.
Really prolonging the festive season, a warming selection of hot cocktails are on offer to greet you – the Grog tastes like buttery apple pie, it’s worth a visit for this alone!
Don’t worry about wrapping up too warm, snuggle up under Welsh blankets or huddle around the beautiful open-pit fireplace in the winter garden – the view from up here is pretty swanky, we spent most of the night dreaming about living in the apartments you can see from up here. If only, right?
But, what you’re really here for is the exclusively selected cheese selection from our absolute faves La Fromagerie.
Choose from either Raclette, baked Vacherin Mont d’Or or Fondue Savoarde, all of which are designed to share and come with an impressive selection of charcuterie, new potatoes, salad and bread which they will refill if you need them too.
There’s something pretty fun about slicing your own oozy cheese slices off at the table and it certainly helps to warm the cockles! Just watch out, those plates get pretty hot! Priced at around £25, we found this very good value for the setting. We’d recommend skipping starters, you’ll want all the room for cheese, and then finish with a chocolate mousse (or another hot cocktail!)
To kick-off the ski season and recreate a fun, alpine atmosphere in Shoreditch, Boundary Rooftop will offer a round of complimentary Vin Chaud to everyone that visits and brings along an item of ski-gear. Everyone who matches the theme (from wearing retro ski outfits, to goggles, or even simply bringing an old lift pass) will also be able to jump the (ski) lift queue to the rooftop. (Available between 5.30-7.30pm every evening in January, for groups of up to 6)
Guillaume Depoix, Boundary’s Operations Manager comments: ‘As a Frenchman and as part of my first winter here in London, I wanted to recreate a relaxed and authentic French mountain experience in Shoreditch. There’s nothing better than sharing great food and drinks with good friends after a long day of skiing in the French Alps.’
We couldn’t agree more – and this is significantly cheaper than a last-minute ski holiday!
Boundary Rooftop is open every day from 10am, taking reservations for elevenses through to lunch, dinner and late-night cocktails – all year round. Boundary hotel guests enjoy priority access.
