We don’t normally do product shout outs but we’ve fallen in love with new BOL salad jars!
This summer, globally-inspired, natural food brand, BOL, have introduced a brand new addition to the BOL family; a collection of four fresh and healthy Salad Jars, inspired by the Californian trend for ‘shake-and-go’ salads.
Vibrant, nutritious and, most importantly delicious, BOL Salad Jars are perfect for busy people on the go, and mark the end of the era of the drab ‘al desko’ lunch. The jars include both a fork and dressing on the side, so once you have chosen your flavour of choice, simply dress, shake and enjoy.
Inspired by the Sunshine State’s healthy living lifestyle, the new salad jars combine exotic flavours and vivid colours, layering healthy grains, green leaves and good fats, resulting in a meal that is packed with natural ingredients and bursting with wholesome goodness. Developed in collaboration with top TV chef Alex Mackay and renowned nutritionist Ian Marber (The Food Doctor), each salad jar is vegetarian and under 400 calories – which ticks all of our boxes!
For the beach body kale queens there is the ‘The Californian’ – red and white quinoa, broccoli, chargrilled kale, pumpkin seeds with a green herb and lime dressing. To release the Greek god in you try ‘‘The Mediterranean’ – chargrilled butternut squash, feta, chickpeas with a lemon and sundried tomato dressing. For a touch of Middle Eastern spice, ‘The Persian’, is perfect – spiced cauliflower, beluga lentils, chickpeas, spinach with a pomegranate and sumac dressing, and finally, because some like it RAW – there is the ‘The Japanese’ – raw slaw, chargrilled broccoli, edamame beans, black rice with a white miso, soy and ginger dressing. This was our favourite, we even had it for dinner with a grilled salmon fillet.
Keen believers in looking after the planet as well as yourself, and hopping on the trend for upcycling, BOL Salad Jars are also designed to be 100% re-usable. Presented in a stylish and sturdy jar, with a screw top lid (so no chance of any handbag leakage) – the salad jars are the gift that keeps on giving and can be used for anything from transporting your own home-made salads to work, to storing your favourite nut mix, or even as a pen pot.
Paul Brown, founder of BOL, says; “BOL exists to make it easier for busy people to eat well on the go, and we saw a huge gap in the UK salad market for creating premium and desirable salads. We set out to create the best pre-prepared salads in the market, with a range that is not only tasty and nutritious, but also comes in innovative packaging that is the perfect vessel for dressing a salad and shaking it up – not to mention it’s reusable. We’re planning to expand the salad range later this year, so watch this space!”
BOL Salad Jars are available to buy on Ocado. RRP £4; Amazon Fresh, RRP £3.33; Planet Organic, RRP £4.99.
