Due to popular demand, acclaimed Brixton pop-up Beehive Place Kitchen & Bar is extending its residency throughout the month of JUNE. This pop-up, with its defining focus on sourcing Britain’s best seasonal ingredients, has been the hottest ticket of South London’s food scene since last November. If you weren’t lucky enough to get tickets to one of their sold out events in the past- now’s your chance.
Working out of a beautiful former Victorian hayloft in Brixton Market, chef Sam Hodges (St John/Soho House) and his team (including chefs who’ve worked at Chiltern Firehouse/The Ledbury etc) showcase peak seasonal ingredients from the most acclaimed suppliers across the country. Throughout June they’ll be cooking with an abundance of the freshest spring and early summer produce available, including everything from AE Brown asparagus, rare Dorset black garlic, Isle of Wight tomatoes, E5 Bakery sourdough to a plethora of sustainable and rare breed meats, fish and seafood.
The £35 five-course tasting menu changes each week. Each dish tells a story about producers and place, an edible snapshot of what’s in season right now in the UK. Chef Sam works directly with the suppliers, ensuring the best produce as well as the fairest prices and best working relationships, the team’s passionate about serving happy food for happy people.
Beehive Place also boasts a full-scale cocktail laboratory, with its own bespoke ‘shrubbery’ full of exciting infusions, shrubs and bitters – incredible cocktails that you won’t find anywhere else.
Friday and Saturday nights from 7pm. Five course tasting menu £35, booked in advance from beehiveplace.com.
