Here at Crummbs, we love nothing more than bringing together our favourite food and drink, in a fun themed evening. So we were delighted when 1800 Tequila asked us to create an intimate little Mexican-themed soiree for them. Although hosting might be off the cards for the foreseeable, there’s no reason we can’t shake up a cocktail or two…
1800 Tequila Clementine & Rosemary Winter Margarita
You might have noticed that our love for tequila grew tenfold during lockdown. But who says margaritas are just for summer? Taking our favourite tipple right through to party season, we’ve combined seasonal clementine with aromatic rosemary for a festive margs, perfect for the winter months.
Makes 1
Ingredients
50ml 1800 Silver Tequila
25ml triple sec
25ml fresh lime juice
15ml fresh clementine juice
To serve
Rosemary sprigs
Rocks Glass or tankard
Cubed Ice
Method
Pour the tequila, triple sec, lime juice, clementine juice into a shaker and shake with ice. Strain into an ice-filled rocks glass or tumbler. Finally, garnish with a sprig of fresh rosemary and a wheel of clementine.
1800 Tequila Tablescape
While we’re not allowed friends round to play, it’s even more important to set the scene and create the ambience. Let’s start with the playlist, we’ve found the perfect one here. You can dance like no-one’s watching, because, they’re really not.
As we move into autumn and nearer to Halloween, we love adding a splash of orange. Cheap dinner candles will do the trick. Mix and match with your favourite plates, add texture with tablecloths and treat yourself to some new blooms (any excuse to get our cactus vase out!).
Taco Menu
There’s only one thing to serve with tequila, and that’s tacos! We’ve combined three effortless elements for a cosy night in.
Guacamole
We’ve all got a favourite guac recipe but we’d recommend blending a couple of ripe avocados with red onion, lime juice and salt to taste, simple!
Smoked salmon tacos with jalapeno, coriander & chipotle mayo
Take a corn tortilla and add a dollop of chipotle mayo as a base layer, add smoked salmon, jalapeno (if you like it spicy!) and coriander. Black beans and feta is another winning combo if you want a meat-free option.
Chipotle salsa & chips
You don’t need a recipe for this one, shop-bought is fine 😉
