Never ones to shun a quirky concept, we were excited to pop along to a preview of MoTeaVation at Another_Space in Covent Garden. We were promised delicious teas and a class to awaken, liven, energise, de-stress and sooth. What more could you ask for?
Amid the oh-so-cool surroundings of the Another_Space reception, we were treated to a tasting of a variety of T2’s new blends. Our favourite was Fresh Start, a herby, floral concoction including peppermint, blackberry leaves and fennel to name a few.
Inevitably though, we had to end the tasting session as the real reason we were there had to start: the HIIT class….dun dun dunnnnn!
After a quick peruse of the changing facilities (which were lush by the way, they’ve thought of everything, including make-up removing pads!) we headed into the studio.
Designed as a series of exercises which can be achieved ‘in the time it takes to brew the perfect cup of T2 tea’, the #MoTeaVation programme was fast-paced and intense. We started the routine rather smugly (“yeah I can do this…easy-peasy”) and followed the instructions to stay on the special T2 mat. This was about the size of the space next to your bed, to emphasise the fact you can do it at home, while your cuppa is brewing.
Half way through we started to flag. The mat was off-kilter and our form was decidedly less strong.
At the end we were sweaty messes, melted into said T2 mat and already dreading the aches the following day. We massively regretted our lack of exercise over the festive period!
But hey, that’s the whole point of the collaboration: a positive workout, getting everything engaged, with a rejuvenating tea at the end to sooth and heal. The T2 and Another_Space teams were lovely and really looked after us and, as said, the facilities were impeccable.
So, as we supped from our cool T2 flask the next day, we embraced the name of our chosen tea and decided it was time to make a Fresh Start!
