With a new restaurant opening every 30 seconds in London, it’s very easy to focus on the new buzz restaurant and forget those tried and tested ones close to our heart.
Which is why we want to remind you of our love affair with Pizza East.
Whether you’re East or West (let’s face it, I’m nearly always East) Pizza East is there for you. Sure, there is normally a wait for a table on a Friday night – but who wants to be seated immediately? It gives you time to sup some wine while hanging about the charcuterie.
We actually popped over to Notting Hill to check out the banging new summer menu and discovered a gorgeous hidden terrace while we were there! So perfect we recommend you start thinking up a reason to throw an intimate dinner, asap. Celebrating its above 21 degrees? – that’ll do it, book!
Start the evening with a selection of antipasti & cocktails! We adored the pea & fontina croquettes, burrata & parma ham. And don’t even THINK about forgetting that garlic bread – a shade of green you won’t believe, it’s just dreamy.
Cocktails come in tumblers – keep it traditional and go with the Aperol Spritz.
Salads really hold their own here; try the seabass carpaccio with baby fennel & chilli & the aubergine, tomato, oregano & pine nuts. Mac ’n’ cheese is ALWAYS a winner, the ultimate in decadent sides – but hey, it helps balance out all of those healthy salads!
Obviously the pizzas are the star of the show, and for summer you can enjoy some fresh new flavours. When pizza is this good there’s really no guilt involved, fresh light dough and great quality toppings mean that they’re almost good for you.
Try the salami, tomato & mozzarella for a spicy kick with lots of toppings or go for something a bit different – courgette, caprine, marjoram & cream.
We couldn’t handle dessert but if you’re made of stronger stuff we like the sound of the salted caramel tart!
