Located in Covent Garden, Mandira is London’s very first fresh yoghurt bar. Yes – yoghurt.
Now don’t get us wrong, we are very fond of the stuff but even we were surprised to see a whole place dedicated to the dairy product. But then again, why NOT? We’ve seen halloumi pop-ups, Hip Chips (a crisp bar in Soho) and of course the Cereal Killer Café. At least yogurt is good for us! Mandira use their fresh strained yoghurt in everything from breakfast through to dessert – ensuring we get a healthy dose of vitamins and nutrients which your gut will thank you for.
So what’s on the menu?
Things have a Mediterranean feel with the likes of Turkish Eggs doused with chilli olive oil for breakfast and savoury bowls at lunch topped with combinations of hummus, lentils and roasted aubergine.
Your best bet though is to order a savoury yoghurt pot, alongside half of a simit bagel. Similar to a regular bagel but lighter, crispier and covered in sesame seeds, we stuffed ours with chilli tomato paste and halloumi which really hit the spot. We weren’t so keen on the new cauliflower & green tahini bowl but we like the concept so would return to try something else.
It doesn’t stop there, there are both bio-yoghurt & vegan smoothies for if you’re on the go (try the coconut based Cocoa & Orange one if you fancy something decadent!) and dessert pots too.
In addition, monthly specials and limited-edition dishes are released regularly.
