KEEP IT CHEESY WITH THE CHEESE TRUCK AT THE KING & CO

The Cheese Truck made a name for itself serving irresistible grilled cheese sandwiches across London and the UK, from a 1970’s ice cream van named Alfie. This January they’re leaving the “truck” at home and heading indoors for their first extended residency at independent pub The King & Co in Clapham. It will be the first and only opportunity to try their new full all day menu before they open their own fixed place later this year.

Cheese Truck

It all started in 2013 when owner, Mathew, returned from America with a big dream, no money and an old ice cream van sat outside his house. Within a year The Cheese Truck was trading at the UK’s biggest music festivals and this summer sold over 40,000 sandwiches and 5 tons of British cheese. Working closely with producers, sourcing all cheese direct from UK based farms that are making cheese in a traditional and thoughtful way. All dishes are served gooey, melted and straight up cheesy!

The Cheese Truck will provide the classics its cheese adoring fans have come to love; including the mouthwatering Keens Cheddar and Ogleshield Sandwich, and the irresistible Rosary Goats Cheese with Honey, Walnut and Rosemary Butter. It will also play host to a selection of new dishes not been seen before including desserts like Goats Cheese Panna Cotta with Rhubarb Compote. Sure to become instant favourites, their new collection of All Day Plates are ideal for leisurely weekend brunches in a cosy pub setting; ranging from sweet Dorset Ricotta and Glazed Strawberries on Toasted Brioche, to the classic Mexican Queso Fundido with peppers and chorizo, and winter warming Aligot with Cumberland Sausage and Caramelised Onions. Hailed as one of Evening Standard’s top 10 boozy brunches in London, The King & Co will also offer bottomless Bloody Marys, Cava and selected cask ale for just £15 during the daytime on Saturdays and Sundays for diners taking advantage of The Cheese Truck’s tempting British cheese-based menu.
