If the January blues have well and truly set in – fear not team, the Cheese Town is returning to Brixton’s Rooftop South Pole Saloon to comfort you.
You can kiss goodbye to any notion of a new year’s resolution because this my friends is pure unadulterated joy.
Taking place from Thursday 11th – Sunday 14th January, expect the likes of Mac and Cheese specialists Mac to the Future serving up their seasonal camembert mac special – served with an entire wheel of baked camembert. We kid you not.
They’ll also be Hello-Mi serving, you’ve guessed it – halloumi, including halloumi fries and wraps. Grilled cheese sandwich connoisseurs Meltsmiths will be trying to tempt you with their infamous grilled cheese on artisan sourdough, including our fave, the “Grill & Ched’s Excellent Adventure” – a 3 cheese blend with onion jam. Our Canadian friends True North Poutine Co are providing the poutine party with fries, topped with cheese, curds and gravy.
Those who climb the stairs to the heated and covered rooftop in the heart of Brixton, will be greeted by the delicious smells of baked brie and melting mozzarella as London street food sensations cook up a cheese feast in the cosy winter saloon themed pop up.
Throughout the weekend, Cheese Town 2.0 will host a variety of masterclasses hosted by Mac to the Future, where everyone is invited to a weekend of demonstrations with plenty of tasters to go around. For those cheesy romantics out there, sharing cheese boards will be on sale with accompanying taster notes and distributed from a pop up cheese board shop.
For those looking to take their cheese weekend to another level, stay and party at Brixton Rooftop’s bars with cocktails, draft beers and even a pop up espresso martini bar. Wine pairings for your cheese will be on offer as well as mulled wines and hot ciders. To round off your visit to Cheese Town, dance off all your cheese indulgences at the Cheese Town’s after parties with Rooftop favourites Good Life bringing all your favourite cheesy floorfillers until the early hours.
